According to the August 14,1960 edition of the New York Times…

The number one selling fiction title was Advise and Consent by Allen Drury. As of August 14th, 1960 this title had been on the New York Times’ Best  Seller List for 53 weeks!

The number one selling non-fiction title was Born Free by Joy Adamson. As of August 14th, 1960 this title had been on the New York Times’ Best Seller List for 14 weeks.


Fun fact: This week marked the 70th week of making the NYT Bestseller List  for the title Folk Medicine by D.C. Jarvis, M.D.
