Emmanuel College students have access to many different e-books through the library. E-books are available under the Library Resources heading on the Library homepage by clicking on the E-Books link. E-books may also be found through the online catalog. Look for results labeled “electronic resource.”
– Credo Reference provides access to more than 590 academic books. A variety of subjects are covered, from the arts and literature, to medicine, history, and global studies.
– ebrary, Inc.™ is a searchable online collection of more than 80,000 books from all disciplines. ebrary, Inc.™ allows you to create a personal bookshelf, make annotations, highlight text, and print selections.
– Gale Virtual Reference Library is a database of encyclopedias and specialized reference e-books for research in many subjects, including fashion, film and filmmakers, pop culture, and multicultural issues. It also includes the six-volume Beacham’s Guide to the Endangered Species of North America.
Although e-books can be accessed through the library’s online catalog, more results will be found by conducting a search within the individual e-book collection (e.g., ebrary, Inc.™ ). Such searches look at the full text of the e-books, allowing for more possible matches.
