As in:  “This [agricultural exceptionalism] is not the farming cousin of so-called American exceptionalism, that certain je ne sais quoi that the United States is said to possess because of the way the country was founded.”

Kardashian, K. (2012).  Milk Money. Durham, N.H.: University of New Hampshire Press, p. 141.

For definitions of je ne sais quoi, consult, among other resources, The Princeton Encyclopedia of Poetry and Poetics, the entire Credo Reference Collection, and the Oxford English Dictionary, where you will sometimes find foreign phrases.
